JOY Sunday : This Sunday welcome the Banff Dance Academy who will perform a special dance during worship reflecting the Advent Sunday theme of “Joy”! December 11th is also “WHITE GIFT SUNDAY”, so please bring your non-perishables, wrapped in white, to place around the Christmas tree (later donated to the Banff Food Bank).

Santa’s Anonymous: The Santa’s Anonymous Committee is preparing for this year’s Christmas hamper drive. Over the past 20 years this program has helped hundreds of people in need during the holiday season. Application forms are available in Lonsdale Lounge and include return details. Deadline is TODAY!
A Time for Music: Valley Winds Music Association 2011 Winter Concert. Featuring the Concert Band, Big Band and Choir: Sunday, December 11, 2.00pm at Rolston Hall, The Banff Centre. Tickets $15 at the door (Children Free).
Alternative Worship: Wednesday 14 December at 7.30 – 8.30 pm in Lonsdale Lounge: A reflective, contemplative, quiet gathering in the Lonsdale Lounge, to which any adults are welcome. We gather around a theme each week as we sing, pray, share, and listen for words of wisdom. Upcoming gatherings: Dec. 14 at 7:30pm – PEACE; Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 7:30pm – JOY.
LOVE Sunday December 18: Please note that service will be held at 11am for this Sunday only. Our special guests will be the Bow Valley Chorus who will share with us a number of selections from Handel’s Messiah.
Christmas Eve December 24: A traditional Candlelight service will be held at 7pm.
Christmas Day December 25: Rev. Crawford will lead a service of prayers, carols and readings at 10am.
Annual General Meeting: The next Annual General Meeting will be held on the 4 Mar 2012.
Money Matters: Every year RMUC contributes to the Mission and Services Fund. Your stewardship dollars contribute to RMUC’s offering and are utilized by the Mission and Services fund for work including “ministry support, theological colleges, presbyteries and Conferences, core funding to 170 churches, chaplaincies, overseas personnel, global work, outreach work in Canada, justice and environmental advocacy, ecumenical partnership, partnership overseas, the work of the General Council Office, support for archives, and The Observer, and the list goes on.” (The United Church of Canada – About the M&S Fund)
