Announcements, May 04 2012

Please be reminded that this Sunday’s service is music themed. Please join us to enjoy the talents of our special guests, the Angel Voices from St. David’s United Church in Calgary, and join in the congregational singing. In line with the theme, we will be discussing the history of some of our hymns and what music in worship means to us.

Alternative Worship: Is now taking a break for the month of May.  We will resume in June with an altered format.  More info to follow.  Many thanks to all who faithfully participated in this meaningful mid-week time of study and worship over the past 8 months!

Thrift Store: Beginning Saturday, May 10th the Thrift Shop hours will be changed from Tuesday to Friday to Wednesday through Saturday.  This is to facilitate the sale of craft and souvenir items which have been donated and will appeal to tourists rather than Thrift Shop patrons.  The proceeds of this sale will go in part to support the Church and the other half will support the Canadian Food Grains Bank.

For this special sale we will need 2 volunteers from the church each Saturday to run the Craft and Souvenir table which will be set up like the Nearly New table from Rummage Sales, items being chosen and paid for at the table.  There is a sign-up sheet in the Lonsdale Lounge.  Please sign up for a few Saturdays to support this special initiative!

Banff Men’s Conference: The United Church of Canada invites all men on the Christian journey to join then for Faith, Community, Connection, Discovery and Fun at a series of workshops.
