Background Information and Current Update:
Prior to coming to Rundle, Doug and Evelyn Powell had committed to going to Guatemala with Hearts and Hands. Since Doug is no longer able to do heavy lifting and considering that both of us have a teaching background, we volunteered to teach English. It was made clear to us to a month would be a minimum time in order to be effective. And so it is that we leave on Thursday February 7th and return on Thursday March 7th.
Knowing that there are many important meetings and decisions to be made at this time, it is important to have consistency. And so, we have invited the Rev Robert (Bob) Lockhart to be here ¾ time as well for the month. Bob took early retirement and is presently living in PEI. Prior to this, he was Conference Staff person for Montreal and Ottawa Conference, served two large churches in Ottawa and the largest church in the Maritimes at Trinity Charlottetown. He is in high demand as a consultant and has taken interim appointments. His passions, aside from his family, include skiing and the out of doors.
My hope is that you will welcome Bob and his wife Sally for the month. They will be living in our apartment so the same contact number will apply.
We look forward to returning in March for the foreseeable future.
