Hello fellow Thrifty’s!!! Yes it’s a miracle!!! I’m finally writing a newsletter!!!
I would like to thank all of you who helped with the renovation project at Rundle United Thrift, Banff. When I came back from my Mom’s funeral, I was so pleased with how everyone pulled together to get the job done. It looks fantastic! I’ve had such good feedback from the community and I let them know that I certainly could not have done it without my volunteers. Special thank you to the Banff Centre crew Harrison, Kelsey and Thomas, wow! Talk about divine intervention. Great timing! Mary Buckingham and Sharon Fish thanks for keeping it going while I was away. I know that if I listed everyone, I’d be sure to miss someone, so please give yourselves a pat on the back, you deserve it!!!
After the completion of the renovations Gary Doyle went off on a sailing adventure and is now taking time off from the Thrift to work at Lake Minewankawa. We’ll miss you, but know you’ll be back. In the meantime we have hired another excellent guy, Gerry McAuley, who works with me on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. He is a thrift affectionato and wonderful asset to our Thrift team. Welcome aboard Gerry! Mary-Jane has just returned at the beginning of May and will be working casual hours for the time being. She presently is covering Thursday shifts. Bravo! A big thank you to Keary for covering Thursday and Friday shifts for the months of April and May. Cat continues with us Friday nights, because I won’t let her quit! She is such a hard worker and always so positive! (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!) Very shortly we will be hiring one or two people to cover Thursday and Friday shifts, as well for the summer holidays.
People comment on the organization of the store, cleanliness and fresh feeling.
It’s not perfect yet, nor finished, but hey we’re all a work in progress, right?!
If you haven’t volunteered for a while, you’re in for a nice surprise. We certainly can always use your help.
Take care all.
Janet
